The Association of Illinois Electric Cooperatives (AIEC) has chosen John C. Teimeyer as its new vice president of regulatory compliance. Teimeyer is an environmental, health, safety and compliance professional with extensive experience in compliance assurance combined with a strong record of quality and excellence in performance.
Prior to joining the AIEC, he was corporate director of compliance at General Electric/DBA Standard Aero. As member of the general counsel’s office, Teimeyer was responsible for the overall compliance, development and management system implementation of all environmental, health, safety and security programs, including the U.S. Department of Transportation hazardous materials transportation. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at the organization for the past 22 years including regional manager of compliance, aircraft engines division; and environmental, health, safety and security officer and manager, electrical motors division.
Teimeyer holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Health & Safety, with a minor in Environmental Science/Engineering from Illinois State University. He is an active member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. Additionally, he has extensive training in compliance disciplines and holds several conjunctive certifications. Teimeyer served seven years in the United States Air Force as a non-commissioned officer specializing in Fighter Aircraft Weapons Systems and Global Air Transportation.
