The Spring Member Services/Marketing meeting was held April 25-26 at the AIEC. Attendees were updated on the current political climate and power supply and renewables, received customer service training, learned about young adult member engagement, enjoyed ample roundtable discussions and much more.

There’s never a dull moment in the political arena. Nick Reitz, VP of Government Relations at AIEC, highlighted the latest regulatory and environmental issues and discuss how a change in Illinois leadership is affecting co-ops.

AIEC’s Nancy McDonald used results of a recent statewide survey to help co-ops understand the true drivers of member satisfaction.

Corn Belt Energy’s Justin Stuva provided a common-sense approach to practicing great member service.

Joe Priestley, director of technical services at Corn Belt Energy, provide live demonstrations of what can happen if your online security is compromised and what protection is available for you at work and at home.

Jay Bartlett, president/CEO of Wabash Valley Power Association, addressed the greatest challenges member services and marketing representatives face involving solar and net metering, EVs and EV charging stations, member education and keeping pace with the many changes our industry is experiencing.

Holly Wetzel, director of marketing and member communications at NRECA, gave preview of the findings and recommendations of NRECA’s and Touchstone Energy’s new Young Adult Member Engagement Initiative, which includes provides guidance to help co-ops connect with this demographic of consumer-members.

Carol Timms, managing director of Educational Dividends, provided lesson samples on how to teach young children in the classroom about electricity and energy efficiency.
