Job Description:
The ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEMS INSTRUCTOR is a full-time, tenure-track appointment. The instructor will develop, teach and refine a variety of electrical distribution systems-related courses and training opportunities; establish relationships with regional industry partners; secure program donations; assist with grant opportunities; recruit students; advise the EDS club; and assess student learning. Courses in the program include Safety & Accident Prevention; Climbing Skills; Pole Framing & Construction; Equipment Operation; Setting and Replacing Poles; Transformer Theory and Installation; Conductor Installation; Service and Installation; Rubber Glove & Underground Distribution; Fusing, Substation & Voltage Regulation; and other subjects as needed. Current college assignment is Frontier Community College, Fairfield, IL.
QUALIFICATIONS: Class A CDL license and relevant work experience, such as apprenticeship training as a journeyman lineman, required, Associate’s degree preferred. Community college teaching experience preferred.
