Photos from the Fall Climbing School are available on our Facebook page. This school is accredited through Lincoln Land Community College. The course may be applied toward: Electrical Distribution Certificate of Personal Development, Associate in General Education or Associate in Applied Science degrees. It is also recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training.

Students received “hands-on” training including:

  • proper technique of climbing poles up to 60 feet
  • proper use and care of fall arrest systems
  • proper use of fall arrest i.e., secondary safety while transitioning on pole
  • becoming familiar with “hot line” tools
  • practicing pole top rescue and be able to complete it in less than 4 minutes
  • testing to include a 65 ft. pole climb, 45 ft. H-structure pole climb and a 55 ft. transition pole climb
  • pulling and setting of poles
  • basic “on the pole” rigging using knots
  • handline use and care
  • framing of pole using spec book
